Hyeju Jeon
B.S. Chemistry, KAIST, 2021
Hyeju was born in Miryang, South Korea. She attended Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) for her undergraduate, where she fell in love with organic synthesis. Hyeju explored lots of research groups to sate her desire toward organic chemistry during her undergrad. She majorly worked in Prof. Hee-Yoon Lee’s lab, where she finished asymmetric total synthesis of Rhodonoids A, C, D, and G with rationale on their natural occurrences as partial racemic mixtures. After graduating in 2020, she worked a year more in Prof. Lee’s group to finish her work on Rhodonoids. In 2021, Hyeju moved to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to study more about transition metal catalyzed reactions in the White group.
